Sustainability Fair
View Royal's inaugural Sustainability Fair at Town Hall Jan. 24, 2009 drew more than 500 folks learning how to save money while treading
Planet Earth more lightly. Local businesses, schools and community organizations participated. The Fair was part of the
Town's ongoing program of energy and resource conservation.
B.C. Hydro's PowerSmart program and the Capital Regional District were major presenters. View Royal (and other) businesses
contributed more than 20 door prizes. Grand prize was a $1,000 gift certificate for a bicycle, donated by the Great
Canadian Casino. The winner was View Royal resident Tim Taylor of Glentana Road, who gave the bike to his wife Gaileen.
The Town's Task Force on Sustainability promotes environmental solutions and a livable community.
